Aerial Target Vehicle ‘ABHYAS’ successfully test-fired, Defense Minister congratulates DRDO.

The Defense Research and Development Organization (DRDO) on Friday successfully test-fired the High-Speed ​​Expandable Aerial Target (HEAT), ABHYAS, from LC-3 of the Chandipur Integrated Test Range (ITR) in Odisha.

Made with indigenous technology, this drone is capable of hitting targets from both the ground and the air front.

It successfully reached its target during the test. This drone will further strengthen the Indian defense system.

According to the information given by the Ministry of Defense, the work from designing to development of ABHYAS has been done by the Aeronautical Development Establishment (ADE) of DRDO, Bangalore.

Work on this was going on for the last several years.

Aerial Target Vehicle: The vehicle is equipped with state-of-the-art equipment.

Twin boosters have been used in the launch of this vehicle, which gives the initial speed to the vehicle.

It is fitted with a gas turbine engine and is equipped with MEMS (Micro-Electro-Mechanical Systems) which is based on INS (Inertial Navigation System) for navigation.

Also, for the guidance and control of the vehicle, a Flight Control Computer (FCC) has been installed in it.

Dr. G Satheesh Reddy, Secretary, and Chairman of, DRDO also congratulated the team for carrying out this successful test.

This air vehicle was launched using twin underslung boosters. During this, its route, speed, etc. were monitored. It is powered by a small gas turbine engine.

During its testing today, a team of many senior officers and scientists associated with ITR and DRDO were present on the spot.
