Afghan women protest against the Taliban for equal positions in government jobs.

Dozens of Afghan women from all walks of life in Kabul protested against the Taliban, demanding government jobs and equal status for women in society.

Tolo News reported that some of the women who took part in Wednesday’s protests were officers on the Independent Administrative Reforms and Civil Service Commission in the former Afghanistan government.

Ilham, another woman protester, pointed out that about 28 percent of civil service posts were filled by women.

Discussions are being held regarding the work activities of women in government departments.

Taliban spokesman Deputy Bilal Karimi said that after an assessment, women would be given the opportunity to work in similar departments and positions if the presence of women in any department is required.

The current Afghan government needs human rights, women’s rights, and an inclusive government to be recognized in the international community.
