The second match of the four-match Test series is being played between India and Australia at the Melbourne Cricket Ground.

In this Boxing Day Test match, Indian team captain Ajinkya Rahane has hit a strong century. Along with this, Rahane has also made many records to his name.

Rahane has scored a century at a time when the team was in need and captain Virat Kohli was not part of the series.

Along with captaining in the absence of Virat Kohli, Ajinkya Rahane, who came out to bat at number four, hit a century in 195 balls with the help of 11 fours.

This was his 12th century in his Test career. The time Rahane came to bat. At that time, the Kangaroo team’s fast bowlers were wreaking havoc.

At the start of the second day’s play, Shubman Gill was dismissed after Cheteshwar Pujara, but Ajinkya Rahane was stuck at one end.

Right-handed batsman Ajinkya Rahane became the first player from India to score two centuries in a Boxing Day Test match.

Apart from this, a player has scored a century after 21 years for India in the Boxing Day Test match as a captain.

In this way, he has equaled the great batsman Sachin Tendulkar, who scored a century in the Boxing Day Test match against Australia in 1999 as captain.

Ajinkya Rahane’s name was already included in them, but now that he has scored a second century, he has left behind all the Indian batsmen, apart from him.

Sachin Tendulkar, Virender Sehwag, Virat Kohli, and Cheteshwar Pujara have scored centuries. All four batsmen have scored one century each.
