Alert In Jammu: Rohingyas roaming under suspicious circumstances near the military cantonment were caught by the army personnel.

Army personnel caught a man roaming under suspicious circumstances near the military camp in Purmandal at the entrance of the district.

Some phone numbers of Pakistan and Myanmar have been found from the mobile phone recovered from the suspect, which are being investigated.

The arrested Rohingya have been handed over to the Anti-Terrorist Squad Special Operation Group (SOG) of Jammu and Kashmir Police for further action so that they can be interrogated thoroughly.

On Sunday evening, a jawan posted in the sentry post near the wall of the army brigade found a person there doing suspicious activities.

He was talking to someone on the phone near the wall of the military camp. The sentry informed the authorities as his movement was suspicious.

Those who came to the military camp with the person roaming there. An identity card issued by the United Nations to the Rohingya people was found from the person arrested.

When his mobile phone was searched, suspicious phone numbers were also recovered. During preliminary interrogation, he told that he had reached Jammu by boarding a train.

On his arrival in Jammu, he did not inform the local police about the same. Army officials informed the Jammu Police about the arrest of the suspect.

A senior police official confirmed that the Rohingya were caught roaming near the military camp. The police officer said that the interrogation of the suspect is going on.
