Amarnath Incident: ITBP also started rescue work, 5 people were rescued, and 40 still missing.

After the accident due to a cloudburst near Amarnath cave, relief and rescue work is being carried out at a rapid pace.

ITBP personnel also got involved in relief work since early Saturday. 13 people have died in this accident. Around 40 people are missing and five have been rescued, an official said.

According to the news agency, 5 male and 3 female pilgrims have died near the upper holy cave while 3 men and 2 women have lost their lives near the lower holy cave.

Police and NDRF officials told the language that a cloudburst occurred at around 5.30 pm amid heavy rains near the holy Amarnath cave located in south Kashmir.

After that, a thick stream of water and silt started flowing towards the valley from the slopes of the mountain.

Due to this, 25 tents and three community kitchens built in the base camp outside the cave were destroyed.

Army, BSF, ITBP, NDRF, SDRF, J&K administration, and other officers have been deployed for relief and rescue operations.

The Jammu and Kashmir administration has also deployed advanced light helicopters for the rescue operation. It was told from the army that 6 teams are engaged in relief and rescue operations.

Two teams of sniffer dog squads have also been deployed in the rescue mission. Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha himself is taking information every moment.

Amarnath Incident: The media agency reported that the leave of all health workers in Kashmir has been canceled and they have been asked to join duty immediately.

The CMOS of Srinagar, Bandipora, Baramulla, and Budgam has been asked to send additional teams of doctors and paramedical staff to Baltal. Medicines and emergency medical kits have also been ordered.

Ganderbal CMO Dr. A. Shah had told on Friday that 13 people have died and 48 others are injured in this accident.

The injured are being treated at the Upper Holy Cave, Lower Holy Cave, and Base Hospitals at Panjtarni.
