Amritsar Changed Into Cantonment: Operation Blue Star Anniversary

Amritsar changed into a cantonment, before the anniversary of Operation Blue Star,  CM Mann met the Jathedar of Shri Akal Takht.

Gurunagari has been converted into a police cantonment to deal with any untoward incident on June 6, the anniversary of Operation Blue Star (Ghallughara Divas).

On the other hand, Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann bowed his head at Sri Harmandir Sahib after reaching Gurunagari.

After this, he sat outside the Akal Takht for about 4 minutes and prayed to Waheguru.

After this, he held a closed-door meeting with Shri Akal Takht Jathedar Giani Harpreet Singh for about one and a half hours.

After the meeting, Mann left there and boarded his car, and left for the airport. He didn’t talk to the media.

For the recruitment of Operation Blue Star, more than 10,000 employees have been deployed in the security system of Guru Nagari.

The city has also deployed 12 companies of paramilitary forces. The CP said that barricading has been done at 90 places in the city.

More than 4000 personnel have been deployed around Darbar Sahib and between Heritage Street.

The intelligence system has also been activated by CP Arun Pal Singh so that any untoward incident can be stopped before it happens.

Here, Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann himself will reach Amritsar on Sunday to take stock of the security arrangements.

Vehicles coming from outside states and other cities are being continuously checked. 110 squads of PCR are patrolling the city.

If there is an incident at any place, then the PCR teams will reach there immediately. Naughty elements and employees are being constantly monitored. Police can take them into custody at any time.

Constant checking around Shri Durgiana Shrine and Darbar Sahib.

A continuous checking campaign is being done around Railway Station, Bus Stand, Airport, Shri Durgiana Teerth, and Darbar Sahib.

Police have appealed to the public that if any unclaimed object is seen, do not pick it up immediately and inform the police control room.

The object may be a bomb. Along with this, an appeal has been made that if any suspicious is seen around, inform the police immediately.

Operation Blue Star was launched by the Indian Army in June 1984. Under this, the terrorists hiding in the Golden Temple Complex were controlled.

Many terrorists including Khalistani terrorist Jarnail Singh Bhindranwale were killed during the operation. The Golden Temple Complex was also damaged.

In a meeting with the civil and police administration on Saturday, Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann has directed to make tight security arrangements in the entire state.

Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann said that no person should be allowed to disturb the peace.
