Amul And Mother Dairy Announced An Increase In Milk Prices

Amul and Mother Dairy announced an increase in milk prices.

Milk of Amul and Mother Dairy is expensive, now the prices of curd, buttermilk, and ice cream may increase, why is the rise in prices

Amul and Mother Dairy, the country’s two largest milk supply companies, announced an increase in milk prices on Tuesday.

This increase has come into effect from Wednesday 17 August. Both Amul and Mother Dairy have increased the price of milk by Rs 2.

This will directly increase the burden on the pocket of the common man, but indirectly it will also cause trouble. Actually, due to the cost of milk, the input cost of many products made from this will increase.

Now companies will have 2 options to deal with the burden of this increase. One is that they maintain the status quo in the prices by reducing the size of the product or increasing the prices of the products.

Which products can increase prices?

After the increase in the prices of milk, the products made from it can become expensive. This includes curd, ghee, ice cream, some chocolates, lassi, paneer, butter, yogurt, and dry milk.

Apart from this, those products can also be expensive and are not made entirely from milk but milk is used in them. Like fruit shake, kheer and sweets, etc.

What are the new prices?

500 ml Amul Gold will now be available for Rs 31, Amul Taza for Rs 25, and Amul Shakti for Rs 28.

Talking about Mother Dairy, 1-liter full cream will cost Rs 61, toned Rs 51, double toned Rs 45, and cow’s milk for Rs 53.

Why are prices rising?

The Gujarat Co-operative Milk Marketing Federation, which sells milk under the Amul brand, said that it was necessary to increase the prices in view of the rising inflation.

Cattle fodder has become costlier by 20 percent as compared to last year, while we are also paying farmers 8-9 percent more than last year.

In such a situation, we had no other option but to increase the prices. On the other hand, Mother Dairy has also justified the increase in milk prices citing rising costs.

According to Mother Dairy, the price of raw milk has increased by 10-11 percent.

The Gujarat Co-operative Milk Marketing Federation says that out of every Re 1 earned from milk and its products, 80 paise is given to the producers.
