Andhra CM Asks Officials To Provide Kits COVID-19 Patients

Andhra CM asks officials to provide kits to isolate COVID-19 patients at home. There are 18609 oxygen beds available across the state and 5723 patients are being treated with oxygen facilities.

Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy on Friday held a review meeting on the ongoing COVID-19 status in the state, in which he asked the authorities to provide home isolation kits to patients who are under home isolation.

During the meeting, the Andhra CM asked the officials to improve the standards in hospitals and good grading should be given. He stated that plasma therapy should be available in COVID hospitals.

Reddy said, ‘Proper standards should be maintained in hospitals with the availability of medical facilities as well as doctors, food, and hygiene’. Officials present in the meeting told the Chief Minister that 18,609 oxygen beds are available in the entire state and 5,723 patients are being treated with oxygen facilities.

Officials said that out of 15,060 normal beds, 9,777 are in-patients. Similarly, 2,246 people are being treated in 4,249 ICU beds and 178 patients are on ventilators, which number 2,522 beds.

The state has so far conducted 48,84,371 COVID-19 trials and now 94,453 cases are active. Officials said, the positivity rate is 12.31 percent, the recovery rate is 84.48 percent and the death rate is only 0.86 percent.

Officials further stated that as of 16 September, 11,01,625 samples have been collected and tested, of which 1,56,323 cases tested positive. He said that out of the total 38,025 available, 36,232 beds are being used and 17,924 patients are undergoing treatment in Covid-19 hospitals. The COVID-19 centers have 15,625 patients undergoing treatment and 60,905 in other home isolates.

Meanwhile 95 thousand patients recovered in 24 hours

Talking of cases of coronavirus in the country today, it is continuously increasing. In the last 24 hours, a total of 93,337 cases have been reported from all the states of the country. During this period, the death toll from Corona in the country has been 1247.

With this, more than 53 lakh cases have been reported in the country to date. According to Health Ministry data, a record 95,880 coronavirus patients have also been cured in the last 24 hours.
