Another Storm May Come In Tamil Nadu, Alert Issued

Another storm may come in Tamil Nadu after prevention, alert of heavy to very heavy rainfall in these areas.

There is a possibility of another storm coming in Tamil Nadu, less than a week after the preventive knock.

The India Meteorological Department (IMD) said on Monday that the storm will cross Sri Lanka’s coastline on December 2 and is expected to cause heavy rains in Tamil Nadu and Kerala.

Last week, a very severe typhoon hit the coast of Tamil Nadu.

As many as two and a half million people were lodged in shelter camps as part of security measures in the state. There is no news of anyone being killed by the storm.

The IMD has issued a warning for the southern parts of Tamil Nadu and Kerala in view of the possible storm and said that heavy to very heavy rainfall may occur in these areas.

A red alert has been announced for four districts of Kerala – Thiruvananthapuram, Kollam, Pathanamthitta, and Alappuzha. There is a possibility of heavy rains in these districts on December 3.

On the other hand, Orange Alert has been announced for Kottayam, Ernakulam, and Idukki districts. Heavy rains are also expected over coastal Andhra Pradesh and Rayalaseema.

During this period, fishermen were allowed to visit the southeast and adjoining southwestern Bay of Bengal region from the night of December 1.

The coastal areas of eastern Sri Lanka for the next 24 hours from December 2, along the Comorin region, Gulf of Mannar, and Tamil Nadu-Kerala coasts. It is advised not to pass.

The Meteorological Department said that those who have gone to sea are advised to return to the shores by 30 November.

According to IMD, a low-pressure area has formed in the Bay of Bengal. It is likely to change further in the next 24 hours under deep pressure. It can also take the shape of a storm.

IMD’s Cyclone Warning Department said it could move towards the western areas on the morning of December 3 and reach the Comorin region after that.
