Another witness turned hostile in the Malegaon blast case, the next hearing is on March 31.

Another witness on Wednesday refused to identify accused Prasad Purohit in the 2008 Malegaon blasts case. Contrary to his earlier statement, the witness did not identify the accused in court.

Now the next hearing will be held on March 31. On the night of 29 September 2008, a motorcycle exploded in front of Shakeel Goods Transport Company in Malegaon.

In this, six people died and 101 people were injured. A case was registered at the Azad Nagar police station in Malegaon on the second day of the blast.

The investigation of the case was handed over to the Maharashtra ATS following the order of the then Maharashtra government as it was linked to terrorism.

The physical hearing will start in Supreme Court on April 4

With the reduction in the cases of corona infection, life has started returning to normal across the country. In this sequence, it has now been decided to open the Supreme Court as well.

A physical hearing will be held in the court from Monday, April 4.

Chief Justice NV Ramana said on Wednesday that on the special request of the lawyers, links to video conferencing can be made available to them on Monday and Friday.

Supreme Court Bar Association President Vikas Singh has welcomed this decision of the Chief Justice.

Due to the Corona epidemic, till now virtual and hybrid hearings have been held in the Supreme Court, now the physical hearing is going to start this coming Monday.

In October 2021, the Supreme Court had started a partial physical hearing.

According to the SOP issued by the court on October 7, 2021, it was decided to conduct physical hearings on Wednesday and Thursday and virtual mode on Monday and Friday.

In view of the increase in Kovid cases due to the variant Omicron of the coronavirus, the Supreme Court had started a completely virtual hearing on January 7, 2022.

After this, with many judges and staff getting corona infected, the judges started hearing cases from residential.

After this, the Supreme Court had decided to hold only physical hearings on February 7 for two days a week from February 14.
