Army Chief General Naravane warns Pakistan not to support terrorist activities.
Indian Army Chief General Manoj Mukund Naravane on Saturday said that the Pakistan Army is helping infiltration of terrorists along the Line of Control (LoC) through ceasefire violations.
He warned Pakistan that such activities would not be tolerated by the Indian Army.
Army Chief General Naravane informed that there was no ceasefire violation by Pakistan Army from February to end-June this year.
But infiltration attempts through ceasefire violations have picked up recently.
He said that there have been two ceasefire violations in the last ten days. The situation has happened before February.
The Army Chief was asked whether the Pakistan Army was supporting the recent spike in terrorist activities in Jammu and Kashmir and infiltration attempts along the Line of Control (LoC).
India and Pakistan reached an agreement in February this year, after which the number of ceasefire violations was tailor-made, but the process has started again.
Naravane said that we have conveyed through hotline messages and weekly DGMO level talks that they (Pakistan) should not support any activity related to terrorism.
At the same time, on the situation in Afghanistan, he said that we are regularly monitoring the situation in Afghanistan and its possible effects and consequences.
In what form this will happen, it is too early to say. But we are watching.
