The ninth round of talks between India-China military commanders continue talks going on for about two months
The ninth round of talks between the core commanders of the two countries is being held today in view of the ongoing tension between India and China on the Line of Actual Control (LAC) in eastern Ladakh.
Along with core commanders, foreign ministry officials are also reported to be involved in the talks. The talks are being held at the Moldo border point in front of the Chushul sector in the Indian border near the LAC, which is under China’s control.
Tensions between India and China have continued since May 2020. In view of this, till now eight rounds of talks have been held at the military level, but nothing concrete has been achieved so far.
After almost two months, military-level talks are once again taking place between the two sides. The eighth round of talks was last held in Chushul on November 6, 2020.
This was followed by level talks of the Ministry of External Affairs on 18 December 2020. It is believed that today’s meeting will review the steps taken during the previous meetings with the demands made from each other.
