Asian Boxing Championship 2021: Sanjeet wins gold medal, Amit Panghal and Thapa misses.Indian boxer Sanjeet (91kg) won the gold medal at the 2021 Asian Boxing Championships in Dubai.

In the final, he defeated the 2016 silver medalist of Rio Olympics Vasily Levit of Kazakhstan 4-1. However, India’s Amit Panghal and Shiv Thapa lost in the final on the final day.

Amit (52kg) was beaten 3-2 by Rio Olympic gold medalist and reigning world champion Zoirov Shakhobidin of Uzbekistan.

At the same time, Shiva Thapa suffered a 2-3 defeat to Batrasukh Chinorigo of Mongolia. India asked for a review of Panghal’s defeat in the final, but despite that they did not win.

The International Boxing Association introduced the bout review system in 2019. In this way, Panghal, who won bronze at the World Championships, had to be content with a silver medal here.

Asian Boxing Championship 2021: Amit Panghal loses in final, wins silver medal.

Earlier, at the Asian Boxing Championships, Panghal won a gold medal in 2019 and a bronze medal in Tashkent in 2017.

Assam’s Thapa, who was jointly the most successful male boxer in the championship with five consecutive medals, also had to settle for a silver medal after losing in the final.

Earlier, women boxer Pooja Rani (75 kg) has given India the only gold medal at the Asian Boxing Championships so far.

Indian women won medals in every weight category and gave India better success from 2019, when India won 13 medals in Bangkok. So far India has won a total of 17 medals.

Pooja Bohra won gold in the 75 kg weight category, while Anupama Palwal won the silver medal in the 81 kg weight category.

Apart from this, Bhiwani’s Jasmin Lamboria 57 kg, Sakshi Chaudhary 54 kg, Rohtak’s Monika 48 kg, Hisar’s Sweety Bura have made a big mark in the sports world by winning bronze in 81 kg.

Sakshi even lost after winning in the 54 kg weight category. The coach in the ring declared her the winner. The review came after the rival boxer’s Protest declared Sakshi defeated.

This caused a lot of disappointment to the sports lovers. The only thing on the lips of sports lovers and their parents was that justice was not done to Sakshi.
