Attack on the temple of Mata Bhargashikha in South Kashmir’s Anantnag, idols were broken: Attack on Temple.

The extremists, based in Mattan in south Kashmir’s Anantnag district, attacked the temple of Mother Bhargashikha and vandalized the emblems and idols of the goddess.

Not only this, these people tried to set the temple on fire. The priests of the temple were not present at the time of the attack.

The police are yet to trace the attackers, although an FIR has been registered in this case. In the year 2017 also this temple was attacked.

This attack is being seen as a conspiracy to rekindle the normalcy in the Valley.

Shri Mata Bhargashikha Temple is situated on a hill about three kilometers from the Sun Temple on the way from Anantnag to Pahalgam. This temple of mythological times is on a trekking route.

The temple looked decorated on festivals and festivals, but the fanatic fanatics did not like its splendor.

On Saturday some people entered the temple and started vandalizing there. It is alleged that these people tried to set the symbol of the goddess on fire.

Confirming the Anantnag Deputy Commissioner, Dr. Piyush Singla said that on Saturday afternoon, we had received information about vandalism in the temple.

Senior police officers led by SSP Anantnag reached the spot along with their team force. Some clues related to the sabotage done there have been collected.

He said that the culprits are being identified and strict action will be taken against them. According to the police, an SIT has been formed to investigate the matter.

Hindu religious places have been a constant target:

The religious places of Kashmiri Hindus have been continuously targeted by Islamic fundamentalists. Thousands of temples were targeted continuously during the initial days of militancy.

Many temples are still in a dilapidated condition or their land has been annexed. The famous Raghunath temple of Srinagar was also set ablaze by the extremists.

Panun Kashmir Chairman Dr. Ajay Churungu said that again it has been proved that fanatic jihadi still dominates Kashmir. Kashmir is still unsafe for Kashmiri Pandits, Kashmiri Hindus.

In the matter of vandalism in the temple and damage to the sacred rock form, Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha should take immediate cognizance.

Omar and Mehbooba condemned:

Peoples Democratic Party President Mehbooba Mufti condemned the incident and said that at this time there is a need to instill a sense of security in our Pandit brothers and provide them support.

National Conference Vice President and former Chief Minister Omar Abdullah said that the mischievous elements who have committed this heinous act should be caught and punished as per law.

People’s Conference chairman Sajjad Gani Lone and Jammu and Kashmir Apni Party chairman Altaf Bukhari also condemned the attack.
