Australia Beat England By 19-Runs In First ODI

Australia beat England by 19-runs in the first ODI. Sam Billings makes his biggest ODI score but was not enough as Australia beat England 1-0. The England cricket team suffered a 19-run defeat in the first match of the three-match ODI series against Australia.

Batting first, the Australian team scored 294 runs at the loss of 9 wickets. In response, the hosts were able to score 275 runs losing 9 wickets. Spinner Adam Jampa and fast bowler Josh Hazlewood took 7 wickets total and won Australia by 19 runs.

The England team started well after winning the toss and bowling first. T20 series star David Malan was dismissed for 6 by Jofra Archer for the team’s big success.

After this, captain Aaron Finch lost the wicket on 16 runs. All-rounder Marcus Stoinisch took a quick 43-run innings for the team, but he caught his wicketkeeper, Jos Buttler, off Mark Wood.

Marsh and Maxwell’s innings saved

Australia’s middle-order failed badly and the team lost 7 wickets for 259 runs. All-rounders Mitchell Marsh and Glenn Maxwell played a key role in bringing the team to 294 runs by playing fifties.

Marsh scored 73 off 135 balls while Maxwell scored 77 off 59 balls. For England, Archer and Mark Wood took three wickets each while Adil Rashid got two wickets.

Billings and Bairstow became Australia’s problems

Sam Billings scored a century in the first ODI for England but it was not enough to win. England had their first blow as Jason Roy for 7 runs, but even after that, the other opener Johnny Bairstow hit the other end once again.

They were joined by Sam Billings, who both added 113 runs for the fifth wicket. Bairstow scored 84 off 107 balls while Billings scored 118 runs for 110 runs. Even after staying till the end, he could not win the team. England’s team managed to score 275 runs for 9 wickets in 50 overs.

Jampa and Hazlewood hit seven wickets

In England’s innings, Jampa and Hazlewood took a total of seven wickets out of 10. Spinner Jumpa made the team’s victory easy by getting the wicket of Bairstow, who is getting into trouble.

He took 4 wickets for 55 runs in 10 overs while Hazlewood bowled out 3 batsmen giving away 26 runs in 10 overs.
