The Karnataka government seems to be in a strict mood on the Hijab controversy.
According to the report of the news agency, the Karnataka government on Thursday issued a circular saying that wearing of hijab will not be allowed even in minority educational institutions run by the state government.
At the same time, the leading news agency has tweeted that the Karnataka Minorities Welfare Department has prohibited students from wearing saffron shawls, scarves, hijab, etc. to classes in schools till further orders.

According to the report of the news agency, Major P. Manivannan, Secretary, Minority Welfare Haj and Waqf Department of Karnataka, has said that the interim order issued by the Karnataka High Court in this matter is the department.
It also applies to residential schools run under Minority Welfare Department and Maulana Azad Model Schools.
In such a situation, wearing the hijab, saffron scarf and other religious symbols will not be allowed in the educational institutions run by the Minority Welfare Department.
Appeal to open schools.
In the circular issued by Manivannan (Secretary for MW), the state government, and other stakeholders have been asked to reopen educational institutions as well as allow students to attend classes.
It has been said in the circular that the said order is limited to such institutions where the College Development Committees have prescribed the dress for the students.
This order comes at a time when there is a demand from a particular community to allow the wearing of hijab in educational institutions.
