Bangladesh Is In Danger Of Being Out Of The T20 World Cup

Bangladesh is in danger of being out of the T20 World Cup, today will compete with this team.

Bangladesh, which got their campaign back on track with a win over Oman, will look to register a big win against PNG in their Group B league match of the T20 World Cup here on Thursday.

Bangladesh entered the tournament as a sixth-ranked team after defeating teams such as New Zealand and Australia at their home turf but suffered a six-run loss to Scotland in the opening match itself.

The Mahmudullah-led side made a good comeback after beating Oman by 26 runs on Tuesday night.

Bangladesh will now have to register a win over Papua New Guinea to keep their hopes of reaching the Super-12 alive. Bangladesh is currently third in the group and has a net run rate of +0.500.

A win against Papua New Guinea will give them two important points. Apart from this, he will also have to pray for Scotland’s victory against Oman.

Scotland has almost confirmed their place in the Super-12 from this group after winning both their matches. The good news for Bangladesh is that some of their batsmen are back in form.

Opener Muhammad Naeem played a match-winning knock of 64 against Oman but he needs support from Liton Das at the top of the order.

The failure of the middle order is a matter of concern for Bangladesh. Against Oman, Mehdi Hassan was dropped at number three but did not play.

Captain Mahmudullah, Nurul Hasan, and Afif Hossain will also have to take up the task of scoring runs. The role of all-rounder Shakib Al Hasan will be crucial for Bangladesh.

He did well with the ball and bat in the last match and is the biggest threat to Papua New Guinea.

The bowling attack led by Mustafizur Rahman did well against Oman. The left-arm fast bowler took four wickets.

Off-spinners Mehdi Hasan and Shakib will be responsible for checking the runs in the middle overs. Fast bowlers Taskin Ahmed and Muhammad Saifuddin will also have to bowl from the right length.

Meanwhile, the Asad Vala-led Papua New Guinea side are out of the Super-12 race after losing both their matches but will look to end their campaign with an impressive performance.

Asad had scored a half-century in the first match and he needs to play big innings. Other batsmen will also have to support him.

Papua New Guinea bowlers will have to bowl with the right line and length to check Bangladesh’s experienced batsmen.
