Banned PFI leaders in Kerala had contacts with IS and al-Qaeda, the NIA said in a special court.
The National Bureau of Investigation (NIA) has released vital information about the banned People’s Front (PFI) leaders in Kerala.
On the 10th, the National Intelligence Service submitted important data to the Kochi Prefecture National Intelligence Service Special Court.
The NIA said banned PFI leaders in Kerala were in contact with some Islamic State (IS) and al-Qaeda leaders. Along with this, the NIA needed more time to investigate PFI leaders arrested after the ban.
The court has extended the prosecution review period.
At the request of the NIS, the special prosecutor extended the period for collecting evidence and submitting an indictment by another 90 days.
We inform you that the Ministry of Government Administration and Home Affairs has recently banned PFI and its affiliates for 5 years.
Many PFI locations were raided.
Significantly, in September of this year, NIA-led raids were conducted at PFI bases in several states.
During this time, more than 100 PFI employees were arrested for supporting domestic terrorism activities.
The chairman of the banned organization, Omar Salam, was also detained. Such raids were made in the case of organizing the financing of terrorists, and training camps.
