Basis Of International Relations Should Be Cooperation: EAM

Basis of international relations should be cooperation, not competition: External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar.

Foreign Minister S. Jaishankar said on Friday that India believes that the basis of international relations should be cooperation, not competition.

He said that the global system is undergoing a change, in which the Corona epidemic has become more complex.

In his address on the topic ‘India and Argentina in the New World Order: Dialogue between Indian and Argentine Think Tank’.

Jaishankar said that both countries are powerhouses in their respective fields in terms of agriculture.

Cooperation between the two countries in terms of edible oil, agricultural machinery, and fertilizers can go much further than exporting and providing a market for each other’s products.

Jaishankar said that Argentina can become an important partner for India’s energy security, especially in the oil and gas sector.

By joining the International Solar Alliance in 2019, Argentina has also taken the first step towards cooperation in the field of renewable energy.

India raised the issue of violence against Hindus with Bangladesh

India has taken up the issue of violence against Hindu families in Komila district of Bangladesh in front of the authorities there.

The Foreign Ministry said on Friday that officials are investigating the case. Earlier this week some radical Muslims vandalized the houses of many Hindus and set them on fire.

When asked about this during an online press conference, External Affairs Ministry spokesman Anurag Shrivastava said that the Indian High Commission is in touch with the local authorities regarding the matter.

Srivastava said Bangladesh authorities have taken the incident seriously and law enforcement agencies are investigating the violence.

Officers are fully alert to deal with any adverse situation.

According to Bangladeshi officials, the incident of violence occurred when a Bangladeshi citizen living in France lauded the steps taken by President Emmanuel Macron against the allegedly inhuman ideology.
