Bengaluru Floods: Karnataka government announces relief package, releases Rs 300 crore to tackle floods in Bengaluru.

Bengaluru Floods- Karnataka Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai has made a big announcement amid incessant rains in Bengaluru.

CM Basavaraj Bommai said that the government has decided to release a relief package of Rs 300 crore to deal with the flood situation in the city.

300 crore relief package announced.

In fact, Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai, in view of the situation in Bengaluru, presided over a meeting with senior ministers and officials.

He inquired about the rain and flood situation in the state, especially the damage caused in the capital Bengaluru. During this, the CM announced a relief package of Rs 300 crore.

600 crores will be released for the entire state.

Apart from this, the state government has decided to release Rs 600 crore for the management of rain and flood situations across the state.

CM Basavaraj Bommai said that Rs 300 crore has been earmarked for Bengaluru alone to restore the damaged infrastructure like roads, electric poles, transformers, schools, etc.

What did Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai say?

Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai also informed that Rs 664 crore is already available with the Deputy Commissioners of different districts.

While Rs 500 crore has already been sanctioned separately for the construction of infrastructure.

CM Bommai further said that a total of Rs 1,500 crore has been allocated for the construction of drains in Bengaluru. This construction work will start after the water recedes in the city.

Rs 9.50 crore to be released for SDRF.

Chief Minister Bommai said that it has been decided to have one more company of  SDRF exclusively for Bengaluru and Rs 9.50 crore will be released for them for boats and other equipment.

He said that two more companies of SDRF would be set up in the coming days at the state level.

Above normal rain in Bengaluru.

From September 1 to 5, some parts of Bengaluru have received 150 percent above normal rainfall, while Mahadevapura, Bommanahalli, and KR Puram regions have received 307 percent excess rainfall.

Due to this, the problem of water logging has been seen in Bangalore. Due to this, the traffic system of the city has also come to a complete halt.
