Bengaluru Metro To Start Operations From September Seventh

Bengaluru Metro to start operations from September 7, with fixed timings, the passenger limit will be fixed. Trains on Bangalore’s Namah Metro will run between 8-11 am and 4: 30-7: 30 am. Bengaluru has got the permission to resume services from September 7 and every metro will have a five-minute frequency.

According to a release from Bangalore Metro Rail Corporation Limited, trains on the Purple line will start from September 7, while trains will run on the Green Line from September 9.

In addition, from September 11, 2020, both lines will run from 7 am to 9 pm at peak hours with a 5-minute frequency and a 10-minute non-peak hour frequency. For travel, passengers will have to use smart cards as tokens will not be sold, and it will be necessary to wear a face mask at all times in the metro premises.

The corporation has also asked passengers to maintain a social distance of 2 meters and stated that a maximum of 400 passengers will be allowed to travel in each train at a time, apart from sitting one seat in view of COVID-19. In addition, detailed SOPs will be released today by BMRCL.

Meanwhile, things are slowly returning to normal under Unlock-4 across the country. In the process of Unlock-4, the government has allowed liquor to be served in all pubs and restaurants.

A pub owner in Bengaluru said that when the government had given permission to eat only one or two people used to come to the restaurant during that time, but since the government allowed the restaurant to serve liquor, a lot of people are coming, due to which Is getting a good response.

Schools, colleges, and other educational institutions will remain closed until 30 September. There is some relaxation for students from 9th to 12th standard. Cinema halls, swimming pools, international flights (except in some special cases) will still remain closed.
