Bharat Biotech said – participation and cooperation are necessary to increase vaccine production in the country.

Bharat Biotech is the company which manufactures indigenous corona vaccine known as Covaxin.

Suchitra Ila, joint managing director of Bharat Biotech, said on Saturday that participation, technology transfer, and supply of various critical equipment and materials are necessary to meet the huge demand for the vaccine.

At the EU-India business roundtable, Ila said the patent’s More important than discounts is the partnership and the continued supply of raw materials that are important to speed up production.

This will not only help in meeting the domestic demand, but it will also be able to meet the demand of the whole world.

He said that cooperation is necessary to meet the needs of vaccination in a large country like India. It will be happy to collaborate and partner with companies and educational institutions. ‘

Ila said, ‘India is a big country. We cannot afford to add 2.6 billion (twin doses for 1.3 billion people) vaccines to our population which is the demand of the moment. ‘

He said that two billion doses is also a goal, which is not possible for any country.

But I am sure that we can provide some relief by bringing more technology or in patents and we as Indian manufacturers can use these new technologies in our plants. ‘

PM asks for the release of the Corona vaccine from intellectual property bond, with the EU’s stance positive.
