Bharat Biotech Seeks Permission For Trial Of Nasal Corona Vaccine

Bharat Biotech seeks permission for the trial of nasal corona vaccine, no need for health workers to apply.

Bharat Biotech has sought permission from the Controller General of Indian Medicine (DCGI) for clinical trials of corona vaccine to be given through the nose (nasal).

The Hyderabad-based company has developed the first indigenous vaccine against the coronavirus, which has also received approval from DGCI for restricted emergency use.

Top sources said that Bharat Biotech has sought permission for clinical trials in Phase I and II of the nasal vaccine.

The trial will be conducted at many centers in the country

According to the report of the leading news agency, it will be tested at several centers in the country. There are two doses of the vaccine in the arm through syringes, but this will be a single-dose vaccine.

It will be for children and elders and there will be no need for a trained health worker to provide it.

Told covaxine safe

Ecuador’s Ambassador to India, Hector Guevara Jacome, was given the first dose of covaxine prepared by Bharat Biotech on Friday, the leading news agency reported.

He stated that covaxine is a convenient and safe vaccine. Describing Bharat Biotech and Serum Institute as good companies, he said that he joined the trial after talking to researchers in the US and in his country.

PM Modi will hold a meeting with the Chief Ministers

Meanwhile, the Union Health Minister Dr. Harsh Vardhan has said that the vaccine will be available to the people of the country in the next few days.

The vaccine will be first introduced to people in healthcare and priority groups. Prime Minister Narendra Modi will hold a meeting with the Chief Ministers of all the states on Monday before starting the vaccination.

Covishield and covaxine safe and effective

The Indian Medical Association (IMA) has expressed confidence in the indigenous vaccines of Corona and appealed to doctors from across the country to participate in the vaccination.

The association said that both vaccines (covishield and covaxine) approved for emergency use are safe and effective but also affordable.

The IMA has appealed to all its members to be actively involved in the corona vaccination campaign.
