The Special Chief Secretary further said that several tonnes of black jaggery, the main ingredient for the manufacture of illicit liquor, have been destroyed by the Special Enforcement Bureau in the last two years.

Bhargava said that as per the orders of Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Jagan Mohan Reddy, strict action will be taken against anyone found manufacturing illegal liquor and no one will be spared.

Opposition alleges an increase of illicit liquor.

The opposition Telugu Desam Party (TDP) on Saturday staged a protest in Vijayawada against the ruling YSRCP government, alleging the rise of illicit liquor in the state.

One of the protesters, TDP MLA Gadde Rammohan, claimed that the liquor brands sold in Andhra Pradesh are made by YSRCP MLAs and relatives of the Chief Minister to make money.

According to Rammohan, these liquor brands sold in Andhra Pradesh are not sold in other states and CM’s relatives are earning money from this.

18 people died in a week.

At the same time, due to this, the opposition party TDP has demanded a white paper on the income of liquor from the Jagan Mohan Reddy government.
