Bikaner-Guwahati Express accident: Death toll reached 9, Railway Minister reached the accident site.

The death toll has now reached 9 when 12 bogies of Bikaner Express derailed near Domhani in Maynaguri in Jalpaiguri district of Bengal at around 5 pm on Thursday.

Four-five bogies were completely damaged in this accident. Meanwhile, Union Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnav today visited the accident site of Guwahati-Bikaner Express at Jalpaiguri.

Ashwini Vaishnav said that this is a very sad and unfortunate incident. The investigation has been started. The Prime Minister is constantly monitoring it.

He said that he is constantly giving information to the Prime Minister. He said that he had come to the accident site so that the root cause of the matter could be known and such an incident would never recur.

Union Minister of State for Minorities John Barla also visited.

Today Union Minister of State for Minorities John Barla visited the accident site of Guwahati-Bikaner Express at Jalpaiguri.

John Barla told that people have been rescued and taken to various hospitals. He informed that a total of 9 people have died in the accident and 36 people are injured. The rescue operation is over now.

Families of the deceased will get five lakh rupees.

According to the Railways, an ex-gratia of Rs 5 lakh will be given to the next of kin of those who lost their lives in the Guwahati-Bikaner Express accident.

Rs 1 lakh to those seriously injured, and Rs 25,000 to those with minor injuries.

Bikaner-Guwahati Express accident: President-Vice President expressed grief.

President Ram Nath Kovind and Vice President Venkaiah Naidu have expressed grief over the train accident and wished speedy recovery to the injured.

The President tweeted that the derailment of the Bikaner Express is very sad. My prayers are with the affected passengers and their families.

The Vice President’s Office tweeted quoting Naidu as saying that my condolences are with the affected families.

Prime Minister took information about the accident from Bengal CM.

After this incident, Prime Minister Narendra Modi talked to Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee and took information about the incident.

At the same time, Chief Minister Mamta had directed the officials to provide treatment to the injured at the earliest.

According to the information, due to darkness and dense fog, the relief and rescue work became difficult. Two teams of NDRF were deployed in it.
