Both Forces Retreating From Pangong Lake In Ladhak

Both forces retreating from Pangong lake, according to India’s will, ex-army operations director-general claims.

Former military operations director-general of the Indian Army, Lieutenant General (R) Vinod Bhatia, says that the forces of both countries are retreating from the banks of Lake Pangong in eastern Ladakh in the way India thinks fit.

It is completely wrong and untrue that India has come under pressure from China. He said that the task of reversing the armies of both countries is not easy. This process is quite tedious and time-consuming.

Returning of India’s friendly armies

In a special conversation, retired Lieutenant General Bhatia said that India and China have had many claims and counter-claims regarding the Line of Actual Control (LAC).

However, the process of reversing the forces is not in accordance with the claim made by China in 1959, but in India’s arbitrary way.

India wants status quo on LAC

General Bhatia said that India wants to restore the status quo on LAC. Therefore, according to the situation in April 2020, the forces are expected to return to their respective locations.

In April 2020, China’s outpost was on the east side of Finger 8 in Sirijap while our outpost Dhan Singh Thapa was with Finger Three for many years.

Armies moving away from conflict points

On China’s 1959 claim, he said that it is based on many interpretations and assumptions. For the moment the forces are retreating from the collision points from the northern southern shore of Pangong Lake.

It was at these places that there were a maximum army and artillery gathering. Here both the armies were face to face. There was also a lot of possibility of confrontation here.

That’s why it started from here. Due to this location being at a very high altitude, this work will take a lot of time.

The status quo of India should be maintained

The Chinese army which has built between five and six fingers in Indian territory will have to leave them. He said that the objective of India was to establish the status quo which would be achieved.

In such a situation, saying that India has accepted China’s 1959 claim would be wrong.

Army deployment will be cut.

Asked about the way forward for the future, he said that the deployment of the army would have to be cut after the two countries reversed.

After this, the terms of the agreement between the two have to be strengthened.

At the same time, India should increase its strategic capabilities with increased surveillance and patrolling in the region so that it can respond immediately if any such situation arises in the future.
