Brigade Commander level meeting between India and Pakistan at Poonch-Rawalakot crossing point, know the reason.
The forces of India and Pakistan held a Brigadier level meeting at Poonch-Rawalkot Crossing on Friday.
This was a follow-up meeting organized to maintain the previous agreement on the ceasefire along the Line of Control (LoC) in Jammu and Kashmir.
The Army tweeted that on March 26, a Brigade Commander level flag meeting was held between the Indian and Pakistan Army at the Poonch-Rawalakot crossing point.
It may be noted that last month, India and Pakistan agreed to stop the long-running ceasefire violations on other sectors of the border, including the LoC.
This agreement was reached to prevent ceasefire violations along the border in talks between the Director Generals of Military (DGMO) of the two countries.
The joint statement issued by both India and Pakistan had asked for strict compliance with the ceasefire agreements. This consent is in force from midnight of 24–25 February.
However, Indian military officials also said that even though a ceasefire has been reached between India and Pakistan.
There will be no reduction in the deployment of troops or military operations along the Pakistan border to fight terrorism and infiltration.
The ceasefire does not mean that the army’s campaign against terrorism will slow down or there will be any reduction in vigilance along the border.
Military forces will continue anti-infiltration and counter-terrorism operations.
A day before this meeting of the military officers of India Pakistan, Army Chief General MM Narwane said that there was not a single bullet in the month of March on the Line of Control (LoC) in Jammu and Kashmir.
For the first time in nearly five-six years, there has been complete peace on the border. However, the Chief of Army Staff also said on Thursday that the entire terror structure, including the launch pad of the terrorists, is still intact.
