California is suffering from heavy rains and snow, and 19 people have died so far. 23,000 household power outages.

Rain, snow, and strong winds wreaked havoc in California, USA. Heavy rain and snow are expected in California through this weekend.

However, the Korea Meteorological Administration said that next week, people are expected to soften somewhat due to rain across the country.

California Governor Gavin Newsom said on Saturday that he expects President Joe Biden to sign a major disaster declaration to help the state deal with emergencies.

Heavy snow and strong winds in the Sierra Nevada have worsened conditions in some areas, causing road closures. Authorities are asking people to stay away from them.

As of Saturday morning, the Sierras had reached 21 inches of snow and about 10 feet had already fallen to the ground.

The research center said in a tweet that two to three more feet of snow were expected by Monday morning.
