US Open champion and world number one Carlos Alcaraz lost to Felix Auger Aliassim in the Davis Cup tennis tournament. Canada managed to upset Spain by beating 2-1 in this match.

Germany and Australia from Group C advanced to the quarter-finals. Germany beat Belgium 2-1 while Italy defeated Argentina by the same margin in Group A.

EPL begins after paying tribute to the Queen.

The English Premier League (EPL) football competition resumed after a period of silence and tribute to Queen Elizabeth II, with Fulham and Aston Villa winning their matches.

Nottingham Forest coach Steve Cooper and Fulham coach Marco Silva paid floral tributes to the Queen on behalf of their teams at the City Ground.
