CBI Arrested Naval Officers For Leaking Secret Information

CBI arrested naval officers for leaking secret information related to the submarine, Navy ordered a high-level investigation.

In a significant development, the CBI has arrested a naval commander (equivalent to a lieutenant colonel in the Army), two retired officers, and two others in connection with leaking secret information related to the modernization of a Kilo-class submarine.

Top government sources said. After this development last month, the Navy has also constituted a five-member investigation team under the leadership of Vice-Admiral and Rear Admiral to find ways to prevent this leak and prevent such incidents in the future.

CBI arrests naval officers: Four others including two retired officers also arrested, Navy is also investigating at its level.

After getting information from the agencies concerned, the CBI arrested the said commander posted in Mumbai. He had leaked the said unauthorized information to retired officers.

CBI is also interrogating several other present officers who were in touch with the arrested officers.

The Navy is assisting the investigation being carried out by the central agency and providing its officers for interrogation by the investigating officers.

Information about investigations at the top government level, including agencies related to national security, is also given.

Case of leaking information related to modernization of Kilo-class submarine.

Sources say that the investigating agencies have been monitoring the activities of a large number of retired officers of the three services, which is why these arrests have taken place in this case.

They have also got some more information, so some more arrests are possible now. The central agency is also probing the hardware to which the arrested officers had access during their service.

Along with this, the possibility of their being leaked to foreign agencies is also being investigated.

Raids at 19 places.

CBI has raided 19 places in different cities including Delhi, Mumbai, Hyderabad in this case. Important documents and digital evidence have been seized, which are being investigated.

The investigating agency is also conducting forensic analysis of the digital equipment used by the officials to ascertain whether the leaked information has fallen into the wrong hands.
