The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) has filed a charge sheet against Mayank Tiwari.
He had recently claimed to be an official of the Prime Minister’s Office (PMO) and had put pressure on the promoters of a hospital in Indore to not collect Rs 16 crore dues.
CBI filed the first charge sheet in this case in a special court of Delhi after about three months-long investigation.
It is known that the CBI had searched the premises of Mayank Tiwari in Ahmedabad in this case. During this period, the agency officials had also seized many documents.
What was the matter?
News agency quoted an official as saying that Tiwari allegedly asked the promoters of the eye hospital chain Dr Aggarwal through calls and messages from his mobile phone to resolve the dispute with the hospital in Indore.
The Indore hospital reportedly had to pay Rs 16 crore to an eye hospital chain named Dr Agarwal.
He further said that it is alleged that Dr. Aggarwal had entered into an agreement with two doctors operating a hospital in Indore who wanted to join the franchise and for this, more than Rs 16 crore was paid.
PMO had given a complaint to CBI.
When the PMO came to know about this matter, it immediately asked the CBI to investigate.
During this, the PMO told the CBI that this was a case of misuse of the name of the PMO. PMO said in its complaint that Mayank Tiwari is not working in the post mentioned in PMO.
