Addressing a press conference in Ludhiana after taking stock of the incident, Union Law Minister Kiren Rijiju said that he has had talks with the Chief Minister.
Central and state agencies will work together. The Government of India is working on this incident with full sensitivity.

Rape case: Big blow to Ludhiana MLA Simarjit Singh Bains, a petition filed on arrest warrant dismissed.
The court of Judicial Magistrate Harsimranjit Kaur has dismissed an application filed by the counsel of Lok Insaf Party chief and MLA Simarjit Singh Bains seeking withdrawal of the order of issuance of the arrest warrant against him in an alleged rape case.
The court dismissed the application as not maintainable in the eyes of law. The matter was adjourned till January 5, 2022, to record the statement of the concerned policeman.
The statement of police personnel will be written that the accused is not traceable and after that, the process of declaring him as a fugitive is likely to start.
The FIR was registered on the orders of the court in July 2021. But to date, no accused has been arrested.
