Chargesheet on 28 including IG in Islamic banking scam, instead of taking action, IG had given a clean chit to the accused: Bengaluru.

The CBI on Saturday filed a supplementary chargesheet against the 28 accused in the Rs 4,000-crore I-Monetary Advisory (IMA) banking scam, which had been lured into investing according to Islamic rules.

The accused also include senior IPS officers like IG Hemant Nimbalkar and SP Ajay Hilori.

The CBI alleges that these officials, along with the revenue officials of the Government of Karnataka, stopped their inquiries and investigations on the information and complaints received against the IMA.

Assistant Commissioner also surrounded

Let’s say that ‘I’ is not defined in the name of the company, but its meaning is considered ‘Islamic’. Officials said on Saturday that in the charge sheet filed in a special court in Bengaluru.

The CBI has also named IMA Managing Director Muhammad Mansoor Khan and the then assistant commissioner of Bangalore North Sub Division LC Nagraj, in chargesheet among others.

Allegations on veteran officials

Apart from these, the then DSP (CID) EB Sridhar, the then SHO of Commercial Street Police Station M. Ramesh, and the then Sub-Inspector of the police station P. Gaurishankar have also been charged.

Despite being warned by the Reserve Bank and the Income Tax Department, Nimbalkar was posted as IG and Hillori Bangalore’s Deputy Commissioner of Police in the Economic Offenses Wing of the CID when the IMA was involved in illegal activities.

Clean chit was given to the accused

The headquarters of the IMA comes under the jurisdiction of the Commercial Street Police Station. CBI has also accused IMA directors Nizamuddin, Naseer Hussain, Naveed Ahmed, Wasim, Arshad Khan, and Afsar Pasha.

CBI spokesperson RK Gaur said, the accused did not take necessary action under the law but instead gave a clean chit and said that the said private company was not involved in any illegal activity.

Crores of investors were drowned

It has also been alleged that the illegal activities of the said company continued unabated and crores of rupees of thousands of investors were sunk.

The investigating agency found that the accused police officers had allegedly taken bribes for this financial fraud. Please tell that CBI has filed two charge sheets in this case earlier.

Initially, the state police were investigating the case by registering the case, but later the investigation was handed over to the CBI.

Mansoor had fled to Dubai

The scam came to light in 2018 in which the company was illegally collecting money from people for various Ponzi schemes like monthly scheme, education scheme, marriage scheme, by luring more interest.

When it came time to return, Mansoor Khan fled to Dubai. He was extradited to India on 19 July last year and arrested. He is currently in judicial custody.
