Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai Will Hold High-level Meeting

Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai will hold a high-level meeting today regarding the easing of Covid restrictions in Karnataka.

Karnataka Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai will chair a high-level meeting regarding Corona on Friday.

Important decisions will be taken in the meeting on relaxation of weekend and night curfew as well as reopening of schools.

In the last 24 hours, 47 thousand 754 new cases of corona have been reported in Karnataka. Karnataka has the highest number of 30 thousand 540 corona infection cases in Bengaluru.

However, 22 thousand 143 patients have been discharged from the hospital in the state and 13 thousand 195 in Bengaluru.

Along with this, in view of the reduction in the severity of the disease, it has been announced to lift the ban in the state.

Demand for removal of Covid restrictions.

Earlier, 8 thousand 353 patients were discharged on 18 and 23 thousand 209 patients were discharged on 19 January.

Bommai and State Health Minister Sudhakar said that decisions will be taken in the meeting keeping in mind the public interest and avoiding deaths is the only concern of the government.

He said the government is under increasing pressure from the business community and private school management to ease restrictions.

Private school management is demanding the reopening of schools in Bengaluru. Schools are running in the rest of the state and the respective district commissioners have been asked to make a decision.

Along with this, the district commissioners have also been advised not to take comprehensive decisions for the entire district.

On the other hand, the business community, film exhibitors, bars, pubs, and hotel owners, especially in Bengaluru, are also demanding the removal of weekend and night curfew in the state.

Protests continue to lift restrictions.

Film exhibitors in Mysore have protested the cancellation of exhibitions, demanding 100 percent seating capacity and lifting of weekend and night curfew restrictions.

Opposition Congress leaders have also strongly criticized the ruling BJP for enforcing the restrictions.

State Congress President D.K. Shivakumar and Leader of Opposition Siddaramaiah blamed the BJP for disrupting the livelihood of the people.

Although Revenue Minister R. Ashok has said that the rules cannot be made easy for the convenience of anyone. Only one decision has to be taken to help the whole society.

Meanwhile, a study by experts said that the third wave of corona in the state may reach its peak in a few days. At the same time, the state government is planning to relax the weekend and night curfew.

A government source also confirmed that the meeting will take a right decision regarding the reopening of schools in Bengaluru.
