Children Of Government Schools Will Get Breakfast

Children of government schools will get mid-day meals besides breakfast according to New Education Policy. Now, in mid-day mill, children will get breakfast in government schools. The New Education Policy (NEP) approved by the Union Cabinet last week states that morning hours after nutritious breakfast can prove to be good for study.

The expansion of the mid-day mill scheme by including breakfast has therefore been recommended. According to the new education policy, malnourished or unhealthy children are unable to study better. Hence nutrition and health of children will be focused through healthy eating and community participation in trained social workers, counselors, and the schooling system.

It also states that where it is not possible to provide hot food to children, simple but nutritious food such as peanuts, gram, jaggery, and local fruits can be provided. Apart from this, there will be regular medical checkup of all school children. Health cards will be issued to monitor this.
