Coimbatore Car Blast Case: DMK To Submit A Memorandum

Coimbatore Car Blast Case: DMK is to submit a memorandum against Governor to President, and a letter to MPs.

The Coimbatore car blast case is not taking its name to stop.

Governor RN Ravi had expressed dissatisfaction over the alleged state government’s delay in handing over the case to the National Investigation Agency (NIA).

If the matter picks up, the ruling DMK will demand the President recall the Governor.

DMK party leader TR Baalu has written to party MPs and like-minded parties requesting them to come to the party headquarters to read and sign a memorandum addressed to President Draupadi Murmu.

The memorandum has demanded the immediate recall of the Tamil Nadu Governor.

Left also condemned the governor.

CPM state secretary K Balakrishnan on Saturday condemned Governor RN Ravi’s remarks on the Coimbatore car blast and demanded his recall.

Balakrishnan said Ravi blamed the Tamil Nadu government for the delay in recommending an NIA probe into the case.

But those involved in the blast were already under the scanner of the NIA and the agency failed to stop the blast.

Governor expressed concern.

Let us tell you that a few days ago, Governor Ravi had also expressed serious concern over the possible tampering of important evidence in the high-profile terror conspiracy.

The Governor praised the police who established the car blast as a serious terror attack conspiracy within hours of the incident and lamented the laxity of the state government.

He urged not to do any politics on terrorism and to show no leniency towards terrorists as they are enemies of the country and no one’s friends.

Know – what’s the matter?

The cylinder exploded in a car near Kottai Easwaran Temple in Coimbatore on 23 October. The investigation of this case was handed over to the NIA.

The investigating agency started the investigation by registering an FIR in this case on October 27.

The NIA has mentioned the recovery of jihadi material from the house of the accused. NIA has recovered 109 items from the accused.

These also include notebooks related to Islamic and jihadist ideology. Earlier, Tamil Nadu Chief Minister MK Stalin had recommended a probe by the NIA into the matter.

The Tamil Nadu government had said that the decision to recommend the probe to the central counter-terrorism agency was taken because of the possible international links as well as the involvement of elements from outside the state in the case.

Expressing dissatisfaction over the alleged state government’s delay in handing over the Coimbatore blasts case to the National Investigation Agency (NIA), Tamil Nadu Governor RN Ravi had said there should be no politics on terrorism.

According to the latest information received, a team of the National Investigation Agency has reached the Coimbatore cylinder blast site for investigation.

Tamil Nadu police officials said on October 30 that the documents of the Coimbatore cylinder car blast case were handed over to the NIA.
