Completely firm and determined about the Gupkar Declaration: PAGD Meeting. Dr. Farooq Abdullah said- We are completely determined about the Gupkar announcement of August 4, 2019.

An important meeting of the People’s Alliance for Gupkar Declaration (PAGD) has started at Mehbooba Mufti’s house. This important meeting has started around 5.15 pm today.

National Conference President and former Chief Minister Dr. Farooq Abdullah has reached to participate in meeting.

After the PAGD meeting, Dr. Farooq Abdullah said that we are completely firm and determined about the Gupkar Declaration of August 4, 2019.

There is no contraindication in PAGD. There is no change in our stand. We have challenged the August 5, 2019 judgment in the Supreme Court.

This matter is pending in the court. We are constantly monitoring the process of delimitation in Jammu and Kashmir. The harassment of the police on the common people is increasing continuously here.

PAGD was launched on 4 August 2019.

The People’s Alliance for Gupkar Declaration was launched on 4 August 2019 in an all-party meeting held at the residence of Dr. Farooq Abdullah, former Chief Minister of the erstwhile state of Jammu and Kashmir.

It was attended by Kashmir-centric parties including Peoples Democratic Party President and former Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti.

In this, it was announced to take all possible steps to maintain the unique identity of Jammu and Kashmir. This was named the Gupkar Declaration.

After this, with the passage of the Jammu and Kashmir Reorganization Act in Parliament on 5 August 2019, Jammu and Kashmir was fully merged with India.

The system of two mark-two legislation was abolished in Jammu and Kashmir.

With the passage of the Jammu and Kashmir Reorganization Act in Parliament on 5 August 2019, the system of two-mark-two legislation in Jammu and Kashmir has been completely abolished.

Jammu and Kashmir joined the national mainstream. After this, on 20 October 2020, after a detailed discussion with Mehbooba Mufti President of the People’s Democratic Party.

Dr. Farooq Abdullah formed the PAGD along with CPI(M), People’s Conference and People’s Movement and Awami National Conference.

Its objective is said to be to restore the constitutional status in Jammu and Kashmir before 5 August 2019. The command of PAGD was handed over to Dr. Farooq Abdullah and Mehbooba Mufti was made the vice-president.
