Cyclone Tauktae Tracking: Cyclone moving towards Gujarat, strong winds can move at a speed of 165 km per hour.

The Meteorological Department has said that due to cyclonic storms from the Arabian Sea, there is a possibility of heavy rains in the coastal areas of Maharashtra.

The wind speed is more than 150 km per hour, so it is placed in a very severe category. It will be stormy and macabre and will knock over Gujarat by Monday evening.

Thousands of people have been evacuated from the western parts of Gujarat to safer places in view of the possibility of a powerful cyclone storm knocking.

IMD DG Mrityunjay Mohapatra said that the cyclone tyke is likely to cross the Gujarat coast between Porbandar and Mahuva in Bhavnagar district around the morning of 18 May.

He further said that on May 18, there is a possibility of heavy to very heavy rainfall in the coastal areas of Gujarat. In view of this, people living near the coastal areas of Malia in Junagadh were sent to safe places till Sunday evening.

Inspecting the arrangements, area collector Saurabh Pardhi said, ‘More than 1200 people have been evacuated from here. All precautionary measures are being taken in relation to food and shelter.

Cyclone Tauktae Tracking: Mumbai airport closed.

According to the Meteorological Department, Cyclone Tacte has moved north-northwest during the last six hours with a speed of about 20 kmph and has again turned into a very severe cyclonic storm on Monday.

Mumbai airport has been closed from 11 am to 2 pm today due to the storm. At the same time, the monorail has also been closed for the day.

Hundreds of houses destroyed in coastal areas of Kerala, Karnataka and Goa.

The cyclone in the coastal areas of Kerala, Karnataka and Goa caused strong winds, heavy rains and high waves in the sea. Hundreds of homes have been damaged due to the cyclone and thousands have to take shelter in safe places.

During this time, six people have also died in accidents related to the storm. The NDRF along with the Air Force and Navy are also ready to deal with the situation.
