In the last two three weeks, in line with the rapid decisions of the Ministry of Defense, the Army, Air Force, and Navy increased their supply of oxygen.
Built special corona hospitals fielded military medical personnel, and brought their aircraft and naval ships from abroad to bring oxygen tankers, which has left no stone unturned to deploy.
Defense Minister Rajnath Singh on his Facebook page while referring to this quick response of the MOD in the fight against Corona, said that the three wings of IDF fighting with full force and resources in the havoc of Corona.
The Defense Minister said that in view of the capability and confidence of the forces against the epidemic.
He ordered immediate emergency financial powers to manage the local command level of the Army, Navy, and Air Force with the corona medical equipment and resources to manage the financials. Do not face problems.
In view of the increasing number of corona patients and the lack of beds in hospitals, the Army’s Medical Corps and Defense Research and Development Organization (DRDO) have created specialized corona hospitals in Delhi, Lucknow, Varanasi, Patna, and Bengaluru with the help of government undertakings.
Similarly, 750 beds in military hospitals have been provided for common citizens. While Armed Forces Medical Service (AFMS) has provided 4,000 beds and 585 ICU units in its 19 hospitals across the country.
The Army Base Hospital in Delhi has been converted into Corona Hospital where the number of beds has been increased from 400 to 1,000.
According to the Defense Minister, the corona hospital of DRDO in Lucknow and Delhi has 500 beds while the hospital built in Ahmedabad has 900 beds.
ESIC Hospital in Patna has been converted into a 500-bed Corona Hospital. Rajnath said that DRDO is rapidly constructing corona hospitals in Muzaffarpur and Varanasi.
At the same time, AFMS has made additional deployments in their hospitals to overcome the shortage of medical personnel and doctors.
For this, the Ministry of Defense had decided to appoint retired medical personnel of the Army. AFMS has increased the number of additional 238 doctors in its hospitals to December this year.
In the military hospitals of states like Bihar, Uttar Pradesh, Jharkhand, Maharashtra, and Madhya Pradesh, the corona infected common citizens are being provided treatment in military hospitals.
The army has put 200 drivers on standby in Patiala to deliver oxygen tankers in an emergency.
At the same time, Air Force aircraft have brought 61 cryogenic oxygen tankers through 50 flights from abroad.
While 230 oxygen containers and 4,527 metric tons of oxygen have been delivered to the places of need through 344 flights in the country.
Seven Navy ships are engaged in the transportation of oxygen from abroad. DRDO is engaged in the task of setting up 500 Oxygen plants being installed from PM-Cares.
