Delhi Bomb Threats: Delhi schools face bomb threats again as St. Stephen’s College and St. Thomas School receive threatening emails. Bomb squad investigates, no device found.

DU’s St. Stephen’s College and St. Thomas School were threatened with bombing, e-mail created panic. The process of sending emails to the public schools of the capital, Delhi, and threatening to blow them up has started again. On Tuesday (July 15), St. Thomas School, located in the Dwarka area, and St. Stephen’s College of the University received bomb threats.

According to a news agency, after receiving bomb threats to the schools, Delhi Police’s bomb squad, dog squad, Delhi Fire Brigade, and special staff teams are present on the spot. St. Thomas School and St. Stephen’s College campus have been evacuated due to security concerns. The police have not found any suspicious objects in the investigation so far. This bomb threat has been given through email.

Yesterday, two schools, including the CRPF school, received threats

It is noteworthy that before this, on Monday, two big schools received bomb threats, one after the other. First, at 8.15 am, the Navy School in Chanakyapuri and then at 8.25 am, the CRPF School in Dwarka Sector-16 received bomb threats through email.

Police officials say that the Special Cell has been given the responsibility to investigate both cases. Police are working with cyber experts to identify the sender of the email. In May last year, a series of similar emails to various institutions and schools in Delhi started.

More than 200 schools in the NCR received bomb threats

For the first time, more than 200 schools in Delhi-NCR received bomb threats through emails to their official email addresses. After this, similar emails were sent to many hospitals, colleges, and the Delhi airport. In January this year, too, many schools received bomb threats.

Police found out during the investigation that most of the emails were sent using a Virtual Private Network (VPN). The entire business model of VPN works on the principle that the server will not reveal the location or details. Due to this, the Delhi Police Special Cell has not been able to trace the sender of the mail till now.

In June, a bomb threat was received on an Air India flight from Mumbai to Delhi when a crew member of the airline found a folded paper on which was written that there was a bomb on Air India 2948. The threat turned out to be false when investigated by CISF.
