Delhi Police Registered A Case Under UAPA Sections On PFI

Delhi Police registered a case under UAPA sections on PFI: Another big action on PFI.

PFI has been banned for five years by the Ministry of Home Affairs after getting strong evidence and involvement against terror funding.

The evidence was collected during raids on several locations of the Popular Front of India (PFI) by the National Investigation Agency (NIA) and the Enforcement Directorate (ED).

Sections of UAPA were also included in the ban. Now cases have also started being registered under these sections.

A case has been registered against PFI under the sections of UAPA at Shaheen Bagh Police Station of Delhi Police. Meanwhile, 172 PFI workers have been arrested from 8 states of the country.

NIA had raided Delhi’s Shaheen Bagh too. 30 people associated with PFI were detained. After this action in Shaheen Bagh, the Central Police Force was deployed.

The intelligence agencies are also keeping a close watch on the situation so that the situation should not worsen.

It is said that many documents including mobile phones and other devices were also taken by the investigating agencies in Shaheen Bagh.

Sources reveal that three offices of PFI, the ground floor of Zaid Apartment, the ground floor of Hilal House in Abu Fazal Enclave Jamia Nagar, and Tehri Manzil Jamia were sealed under Section 8 of the UAPA Unlawful Activities Prevention Act (UAPA).

After this, in view of the situation, Section 144 was also imposed in the Jamia Nagar area. After this, 4 or more people are not allowed to gather for two months.

A circular has also been issued by Jamia University. Strict instructions have already been given to the students not to congregate in this.

The central government on Wednesday charged  PFI with “links” to global terrorist groups like ISIS and trying to spread communal hatred in the country for five years under anti-terrorism law UAPA.

According to a gazetted notification, eight associate organizations of PFI –

Rehab India Foundation, Campus Front of India, All India Imam Council, National Confederation of Human Rights Organization, National Women Front, Junior Front, Empower India Foundation, and Rehab Foundation, Kerala have also been named under UAPA.

That is, they are included in the list of organizations that have been banned under the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act.
