Demand To Make Hyderpora Encounter Report Public

Demand to make public the report of Hyderpora encounter, four people including a Pakistani terrorist were killed in the encounter.

The report of the magisterial inquiry into the Hyderpora encounter has not been made public by the state government even after a month.

Four people including a Pakistani terrorist were killed in this encounter. The police had earlier described the other three civilians killed along with the Pakistani terrorist as terrorists.

Seeing the matter gaining momentum, the police later said that the other three civilians killed along with the terrorist were in the grip of cross-firing.

The three local civilians who were killed along with the terrorists in this encounter on November 15 were identified as Mohammad Altaf Butt, Dr. Mudassar Gul, and Amir Magre.

Altaf Ahmed and Dr. Mudassar were both residents of Srinagar while Amir was a resident of Ramban and worked with Dr. Mudassar.

Mohammad Altaf Butt’s brother said that today a month has passed, but the report of the magistrate inquiry has not come.

Demand to make Hyderpora encounter report public: Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha had ordered a magisterial inquiry on November 18.

After this, District Deputy Commissioner Ejaz Asad appointed Additional District Magistrate Srinagar Khurshid Ahmed Shah as the investigating officer and asked him to submit the report in 15 days.

To date, this report has not come. A few days ago, Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha had said that the culprits would be punished while making the report public in three days.

RTI activist Raja Muzaffar said that where is this investigation report, the government should be told.

When an attempt was made to contact the Deputy Commissioner, Srinagar in this regard, he was not available.

Security forces arrested two youths working for Jaish-e-Mohammed in Pulwama

During the action being taken against the terrorists, the police Monday arrested two youths working for Jaish-e-Mohammed in South Kashmir’s Pulwama district.

Both of them used to provide protection, logistics, and ammunition to the terrorists. The police are interrogating both the arrested youths.

Police and security forces can get some more success in the interrogation. A case has been registered against both.
