Taking stock of law and order at a high-level meeting at the Police Headquarters on Monday, the DGP said that all practical and effective steps should be taken to completely curb terrorism, drug trade, and other criminal activities.
Emphasizing the use of various tools based on state-of-the-art technology for the detection and detention of anti-national elements active on the Internet media.
He said that we should develop a mechanism in which we can monitor, rumors on Internet media, anti-national and terrorist activities.
Directing strict monitoring of elements looking for an opportunity to spoil the situation in the state, especially in the Valley, he said that work should be done with a pro-active approach to thwart any conspiracy to spoil the situation.
DGP directed police officers: No one should be allowed to disturb the peace here.

The Director-General of Police said that a continuous campaign should be launched against the terrorists and their comrades and supporters. They should not get a chance to disrupt the lives of common people.
He also stressed maintaining complete coordination and cooperation with all other security agencies and said that it is necessary for maintaining an atmosphere of security and trust and for the complete elimination of terrorism.
The meeting was attended by Special Director General CID RR Swain, Additional DGP Headquarters MK Sinha, IGP Kashmir Vijay Kumar, and IGP Headquarters Garib Das, all Range DIGs and SSP Srinagar posted in Kashmir.
Director-General of Police Dilbag Singh discussed the situation related to the second wave of Covid-19 in the state and the exercise to deal with them, besides taking stock of the security arrangements in the meeting.
