Diplomatic Talks Between India And Afghanistan

Diplomatic talks between India and Afghanistan regarding regional stability and the Taliban. Afghan Foreign Affairs Acting Minister Mohammad Hanif Atmar met Indian Ambassador Vinay Kumar in Kabul on Monday. During diplomatic talks, the two sides discussed the issue of further strengthening peace and regional stability in Afghanistan.

An Afghan Foreign Ministry release said that Minister Atmar and Ambassador Kumar discussed the importance of a ceasefire between the Afghan government and the Taliban during Eid. Both sides saw this as a positive step towards establishing lasting peace in the country.

The two leaders exchanged views on the security situation in the region and other areas of mutual bilateral relations. The two leaders also extended best wishes on Eid al-Adha. At the end of the communique, the Indian Ambassador reiterated the Indian Government’s commitment to cooperation with Afghanistan.

Minister Atmar expressed appreciation for Indian support. They reiterated the commitment of the Afghan government towards furthering and strengthening bilateral relations between the two countries.

The two leaders stressed the importance of further strengthening the regional consensus on the Afghan peace process. It discussed in detail the mutual cooperation to deal with the outbreak of the Corona epidemic. President Ashraf Ghani on Monday thanked Prime Minister Narendra Modi wholeheartedly for the timely supply of food and medical aid to Afghanistan.

The Prime Minister’s Office said in a statement on Monday that during his telephonic conversation PM Modi also reiterated India’s commitment to the people of Afghanistan in search of a peaceful, prosperous and inclusive Afghanistan.

The two leaders exchanged views on the evolving security situation in the region and other areas of mutual bilateral interest. The two leaders also extended best wishes on Eid al-Adha.

Meanwhile, India’s permanent representative at the United Nations, TS Trimurti, described Pakistan as a center of terrorism. He said, ‘It is well known that Pakistan is a stronghold of terrorists.

Pakistan has the largest number of terrorists listed in its stronghold. It has shelters for many groups, apart from Jamaat-ud-Dawah, Lashkar-e-Taiba, Hizbul Mujahideen, and JeM, which are internationally labeled as terrorists.
