Thiam, 27, was trailing 0–4 in the third set tie-breaker but returned strongly to clinch the final ticket. After winning the match, Thiem said, ‘It was a mental battle.

It was very difficult to defeat him in the tie-breaker of the second set. It is always special to play against a veteran like Novak.

Playing here is even better. ‘ At the same time, Djokovic said, “I don’t think I performed poorly.” With this, Thiem also avenged his Australian Open final loss to Djokovic.

Thiem also broke Djokovic’s dream of winning the title of six ATP finals. Had Djokovic won this title, he would have even equaled Federer winning six titles in ATP Finals.

Australian Open will be held on time

Melbourne, Reuters. Tennis Australia (TA) on Sunday denied a media report claiming that the Australian Open in January next year would be delayed.

Recently some media reports claimed that this year’s first Grand Slam tournament could be held in February or March instead of January.

The reason for this was believed to be due to Covid-19 rules. A TA spokesperson said, ‘This is just speculation.

We had also said earlier that we are working closely with the Government of Victoria and will soon give full information to everyone about this and cannot give any information regarding the tournament right now.

But the tournament will not start late.

Recalling the audience Djokovic: Novak Djokovic has expressed hope that spectators will arrive at the stadium to watch the match during the Australian Open.

He said, ‘I heard that the tournament organizers are talking about allowing 50 percent of the people to the stadium.

If the Australian Open happens and if 10 percent of the people also reach the stadium in the tournament, then it will be a big deal.

We are missing the audience a lot right now. His voice and his applause on every shot give the players a lot of confidence.

They cheer you on the tennis court, I don’t think there is anything better than this. ‘ The Australian Open is to run from 18 January to 31 January.
