Editors Guild Condemns FIRs On Journalists

Editors Guild condemns FIRs on journalists, says attempt to intimidate media: Delhi violence.

The Editors Guild of India has condemned the FIRs against senior editors and journalists for reporting on the farmers’ tractor rally.

The guild said in a statement that it was an attempt to intimidate and intimidate the media. Such FIRs should be withdrawn immediately and the media should be allowed to report without fear.

The Guild said that journalists are being targeted by choosing to report on the death of a protestor on their Internet media handle.

There are also journalists among them, the publications they lead and represent are also on target. The Indian Women’s Press Corps (IWPC) and the Press Club of India have also condemned the FIRs against journalists.

In Uttar Pradesh, Haryana, and Madhya Pradesh, FIRs are being registered against senior journalists under sections like sedition.

Let us tell you that eight people including former Union Minister Shashi Tharoor filed a sedition case in Multai and Sarani of Betul district of Madhya Pradesh and Shivpur in Hoshangabad district for posting provocative posts on Internet media during the farmers’ agitation on 26 January in Delhi.

The accused also include journalists. On Thursday, a case was registered against all the above people in the same case at Misrod police station in Bhopal.

On the other hand, in Gurugram, Haryana, a case has been registered on seven of these accused. Balmukund Dongre, a resident and hotel manager of Ambedkar ward of Multai, complained to the police on Thursday night.

Multai police station in-charge Suresh Solanki said that based on the complaint, former Union Minister and MP Shashi Tharoor, journalist Rajdeep Sardesai, National Herald’s advisory editor Mrinal Pandey.

Qaumi Awaaz editor Zafar Aga, Caravan magazine editor, and founder Paresh Nath, editor Anant Nath, its executive editor Vinod K. A case of treason has been registered against Jose and another in a case of disturbing social harmony.
