An encounter broke out between security forces and Naxalites on Wednesday on the border of Dantewada and Sukma districts of Chhattisgarh.
In this, Madkam Muiya, a member of the Area Committee, a reward of five lakh rupees, was killed.
At the same time, security forces have demolished Naxalite camps in the forests of Karigundam and Matemarka of the Chintagufa police station area.
Naxalite literature including three guns, an IED weighing about three kilograms, 80 meters of electric wire, two pelt bags have been recovered from here.
Inspector-General of Police, Bastar area, Sundarraj P said that the said Naxalite was killed in an encounter by the security forces in the forest of Marjum village located in the border area of Dantewada, Sukma, and Bastar districts.
According to Inspector General of Police Sundarraj P, the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) and DRG (District Reserve Guard) teams were dispatched for patrolling in the area after the female Naxalites were killed in an encounter with Naxalites in the forest of Marjum village on Tuesday.
A joint team of Special Task Force (STF), District Reserve Guard (DRG), and Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) personnel had gone for the Naxal operation on the border of Dantewada and Sukma.
This operation was jointly carried out by the forces of the Dantewada, Bastar, and Sukma districts.
Here again, there was an encounter between the security forces and the Naxalites. There was heavy firing from both sides. During this, a Naxalite was killed.
The Maoists opened fire on Wednesday evening when DRG and CRPF personnel were in the area, the police official said. After this, the security forces also retaliated.
Firing continued from both sides for some time. Seeing the security forces overwhelmed, the Naxalites fled from there.
Later, when the security forces searched the spot, the body of a Naxal was found there.
On Tuesday, a woman Naxalite commander Munni, who was rewarded with five lakh rupees, was killed in the same area.
