Encounter between Army and terrorists along LoC in Uri sector, grenade-weapon recovered in Kupwara: Encounter in Kashmir.

An encounter has been reported between Army personnel and terrorists on the LoC located in the Uri sector in North Kashmir. Firing continues from both sides.

However, the police and army have not confirmed it. Meanwhile, a grenade and five cartridges of assault rifle have been found near a madrasa in Jugtiyal village of district Kupwara in North Kashmir.

The police have started investigating the matter.

According to the information, the search operation is going on by the army for the last several days near the LoC in Uri.

However, two days ago, three terrorists were killed during an encounter near the LoC. Today i.e. on Saturday evening once again the terrorists hiding there started firing on the army personnel.

Army personnel has also opened fire against the terrorists immediately taking the front. Firing continues from both sides. Meanwhile, this has not yet been confirmed by the police and the army.

Earlier on September 23, Indian soldiers foiled a conspiracy to repeat a Uri-like attack. The terrorists who had entered from the Pakistan side were piled up by the security forces near the LoC in Uri.

Five assault rifles, eight pistols, 70 grenades, and other items were recovered from the three slain terrorists.

An army jawan was also injured in this encounter, who is undergoing treatment at the hospital.

Earlier in the year 2016, on September 18, terrorists from Pakistan attacked the army’s brigade headquarters in Uri.

In this attack, 19 Indian soldiers were martyred while in retaliation four terrorists were killed. This is the third incident of infiltration in the Uri sector in the last week.

Earlier on Sunday, out of five terrorists who were trying to infiltrate in Angoori Post in Uri Sector and then on September 23, under Rampur Sub Sector, three terrorists were gunned down.
