England beat India by 227 runs in the first Test match: India vs England

Virat Kohli’s army suffered a big defeat in the first match of the four-match Test series being played between India and England.

England beat India by a huge margin of 227 runs under the leadership of Joe Root. Team India had a huge target of 420 runs to win in the fourth innings, but the Indian team collapsed on 192 runs.

England took a 1-0 lead in the four-match Test series. India’s second innings, Kohli – Shubman’s half-century.

Rohit Sharma and Shubman Gill opened India’s second innings. Rohit Sharma Jack Lease Rohit lost his wicket. On the fifth day, India received their first setback as Cheteshwar Pujara.

Pujara was caught out at the hands of Stokes by scoring 15 runs off the ball of the lease. Shubman Gill completed his half-century in Chennai with the help of 7 fours and 1 six off 81 balls.

Gill missed the ball inside James Anderson and had to be bowled back. In the same over, Anderson forced Deputy Captain Ajinkya Rahane to go to the pavilion without opening the account.

Rishabh Pant, caught by Joe Root, gave Anderson a fifth blow to India. This was his third wicket in the second innings. Dom Bess struck out the sixth in the second innings by dismissing Washington Sundar.

Indian captain Virat Kohli completed the half-century in the second innings with the help of 6 fours off the 74th ball. Kohli became the first Indian captain to do so in the second innings of the Chennai Test.

Spinner Leach delivered the seventh blow to the Indian team. He was caught by Jos Buttler at 9 for Ashwin.

Virat Kohli scored 72 runs, but he was clean bowled by Ben Stokes. Shahbaz Nadeem returned to the pavilion without opening an account.

India and England are faces to face in the first match at Chennai MA Chidambaram Stadium. England scored a score of 578 in the first innings, in response to which the Indian team was able to score 337 runs.

England batted in the second innings instead of giving a follow on the fourth day where the entire team was bowled out for 178 in front of R Ashwin’s superb bowling.

Ashwin took 6 crucial wickets for 61 runs. England had a 241-run lead in the first innings while scoring 178 runs gave India a target of 420 runs.
