Explosives And Weapons Recovered In Tangdar And Nagbal

Explosives and weapons recovered in Tangdar and Nagbal: Jammu Kashmir. Army jawans on Sunday recovered 12 sticks of plastic explosives at Tangdar in Kupwara adjoining LoC in North Kashmir.

These explosives and weapons were sent from Pak-occuiped-Kashmir to the active militants in Jammu and Kashmir.

Meanwhile, security forces have recovered non-licensed rifles and IEDs from a former terrorist’s home in Tral in South Kashmir.

Defense Ministry spokesman Lt Col Imran Mousavi said that based on a specific intelligence, a search operation was carried out on the LoC in Kupwara in advance village Lower Jawdi of Tangdar sector.

While searching in a dhok at the outer edge of the village, the jawans recovered 12 sticks of plastic explosives. This explosive slave came from Kashmir and was to be transported to the militants operating in the interior of the valley.

He said that during the last one year in Tungdar and Karnah, the army along with the police has recovered 28 weapons and about 60 kg of intoxicants.

Apart from these, large quantities of hand grenades and cartridges have also been caught.

In the same information received from Pulwama in south Kashmir, it has been told that on Sunday afternoon, on the basis of suspicion of hiding the terrorists in the village of Nagbal Machama in Tral.

The police, along with army and CRPF personnel, searched the area and searched the area.

While searching the house of a former militant Mohammad Amin Malik in the village, a non-licensed 12 bore rifle and 10 cartridges, 50 grams of ammo, one kilo of bleaching powder, iron nails and hair bearing, a pouch, a Weapon sling were found.

The officials concerned said that the other material found with the rifle could be used in making IEDs. Mohammad Amin is an old terrorist who was caught in 2004.

After his release from prison, he was working as a laborer. At the moment, he is being questioned.

Earlier this morning, security forces stationed at the blockade near the Women’s Degree College in Pulwama spotted some suspicious elements in the nearby Bagh.

In view of the possibility of terrorist attack, the jawans immediately took their positions and fired two to three bullets in the air as a precaution. Suspicious elements seen in the garden immediately fled from there.

The jawans also carried out a search operation, encircling the garden and its adjoining areas. There was no clue of the elements who fled the garden in this campaign which lasted till noon.
